Mitosis (2021)
Wax, candle wick, wood, plaster candle mold
This candle reproduces asexually. As it burns, it drips into a plaster mold of itself below. It reforms infinite copies of itself (with mutations) slowly and warmly.
When the mold has been filled and the wax has hardened, an operator intervenes to remove the warm mold from the candle, leaving another candle attatched to the wick.
This process is limited only by the length of wick.
